Meaningful Moment

When I was in Dublin about 9 days ago, I had this feeling of being hemmed in and crowded out.

Today I'm at a medieval banquet at Bunratty Castle which promises to be a great evening of fun.

But there must be seventy people in the banquet hall. All I want is to stand away from them all.

I am very sociable but after all this time on the Kerry Way, alone - without others at my side, I find it hard to be among people, in a crowd.

Would it seem strange to want to be at a banquet of one?

I don't want to mingle; I don't want to talk. I just want to be in my own skin, but all the milling about  from all the folk is keeping me from that state of sensory deprivation.

That state which I felt last night when I was alone in the hotel in the bath.

I know someone who would understand how sensorily overloaded I feel right now.

Random Thought of the Day

Unbelievable how much my body needs rest.

First of all no alarm clock this morning. Although I woke up around 8:00, I never left the room until around 9:30.

Went down for breakfast.

Then for something to do, I walked to the town center which again is really just an outlet mall but walked around there for a while.

Picked up a McDonald's Oreo McFlurry.

Back to the room, and by noon I was sound asleep again until about 2:00 p.m.

Anyway I made a reservation to go to Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. After touring the castle and the typical Irish village of yesteryear, the highlight of the adventure is a medieval banquet meal with musical entertainment of singing and from music.

***

According to the people at the desk, Shannon international airport has avoided the long lines and crunches of Dublin and Heathrow airports. So I'm expecting a smooth check-in  process tomorrow morning.
